What is the United Way Community Care Fund?

The Community Care Fund helps the most vulnerable in our community through program grants to qualifying health and human service agencies in Kootenai County.

The Community Care Fund provides a financial partnership with local organizations in Kootenai County to target root causes and find solutions to community needs.

Who Contributes to the Community Care Fund?

You, your co-workers, your friends, and everyone in our community can contribute to the Community Care Fund. Everyone in our community who invests their time and money to make a difference with United Way is a key contributor to the fund.

How Does the Community Care Fund Get Distributed?

UWKC asks local citizens and community leaders to serve on the community grants teams. These community volunteers read through the agency grant proposals, make site visits, review financial statements, and make funding decisions based on accountability and results. They are tasked by United Way to allocate the funds within key focus areas based on the most demonstrated need.
